Soffieria De Carlini, Vintage Style Raggedy Ann
DC-VN9024

Product Details
This Raggedy Ann is a nod to vintage style characters created by the De Carlini workshop in earlier years. This “Ann” has glittered red hair. She wears a shiny blue dress with a white collar and pinafore edged in red. She wears white knee-high stockings with red stripes and black glitter shoes. Her simple facial features appear as if they were hand embroidered.
American writer and illustrator Johnny Gruelle created a series of books for young children featuring Ann and Andy. First granted a patent for his distinctive “rag doll” in 1915, the character had red yarn for hair and an embroidered black triangle nose. Three years later, he published the first of a series of books to pair with the doll. What a great marketing concept! Ann gained a brother in 1920 and the beloved siblings have been childhood classics ever since.
