Soffieria De Carlini, Vintage Style Raggedy Andy
DC-VN9025

Product Details
This Raggedy Andy is a nod to vintage style characters created by the De Carlini workshop in earlier years. This “Andy” has shaggy glittered red hair. He wears a white shirt with red and blue glittered stripes, a blue glittered tie, shiny blue pants, and shiny black shoes. He completes his outfit with a shiny blue cap. His simple facial features appear as if they were hand embroidered.
American writer and illustrator Johnny Gruelle created a series of books for young children featuring Ann and Andy. First granted a patent for his distinctive “rag doll” Ann in 1915, the character had red yarn for hair and an embroidered black triangle nose. Three years later, he published the first of a series of books to pair with the doll. What a great marketing concept! Ann gained her brother Andy in 1920 and the beloved siblings have been part of childhood classics ever since.
