The De Carlini family first opened its Italian workshop in 1947. They started with simple designs such as this one, representing popular culture. The race to explore outer space was in its infancy and captured the world’s imagination. Glass blowers created the clear glass dome while painters and production workers crafted the “space bubble” in which the plastic astronaut figure stands. It’s a simple and early design from the first generation of this famed ornament making family.

It is in pristine condition and is an original production from the 1950 - 1960 era.
