Golden Glow Convention 2008

Pre-convention activities included hands on workshops and the Christkindltmart. Here C365 subscriber Al S. admires Debbee Thibault’s new Fairy Lanterns. That’s Debbee in green on the right. The lanterns are created from authentic antique German ornament molds. The booth was buzzing with activity!

My personal favorite! The lanterns are currently shipping.

A Celtic piper band from York, PA kicked off the convention at an outdoor ice cream social. In addition to the stellar entertainment, Glow members were invited to come dressed as their favorite holiday “character”.

And the winners?

St. Nicholas and Krampus who traditionally greet German children on December 6.

The convention offers lots of “shopping” opportunities, of course. But its strength lies in its members’ willing to share and educate. There are always amazing displays and museum rooms filled with a breathtaking array of rarities.

Rare German Santas and toys …

Trees filled with ornaments (here from subscriber Al S.)

And things you might never had considered collecting, displayed in an imaginative way.

And, you just never know who might sit beside you at an educational round table …

Yes … that’s really Christopher Radko!
